Stills shot with cam

Looked at my first movie for the first time on a TV last night, and it looks pretty good except my stills. I deinterlaced them and they're not bad, but there is still a little jitter and I'm not happy with it. It just occured to me that I can go back to the place I shot and use the still pic feature of my Sony cam to reshoot the stills. Just want to make sure: am I correct to assume these will be progressive shots and I won't have to worry about deinterlacing them? They will only be 640x480, which is okay, but I realize I will have to resize them to 654. Would that screw the image up? I am going back to the place I shot anyway, so I don't mind reshooting this stuff.

Thanks again to all the regulars here,

Bob

The stills from my DV camcorder are 720x480 0.9091 PAR, which makes them 654x480. I would assume your camcorder would do the same. If you use the Still Image capture feature in VidCap that's what you'll get.

I would also assume that your stills will be interlaced just like the rest of the video footage you shoot with that camcorder. However, since it's an interlaced version of a still image both fields should be in sync so it won't matter.

Since you're happy going back to shoot again, give it a try and see what happens.
