Stitch Media - One Track - Pan Across All ???

Is there a method for stitching different media clips on just one track and then key frame panning across each of them as one long continuous pan? I'm trying to create a continuous background motion of a star field (left to right) and cannot find any easy method for doing this.

I ask, because I'm also curious as to how I might be able put together a 360 panoramic view from still images, and give the impression the entire thing was actually moving video footage.

For this sort of effect, you'd do best stitching the whole thing in Pshop or other graphic software, then panning the wide image in Vegas. There is a shot in our "Toubat" docco that is 3550 wide by 550 high if I remember the #'s correctly. It's stitched together from several photos of one event, taken from the Denver Art Museum. I tried achieving this in Vegas using multiple tracks, but it ended up being so much easier in a photo tool.

I agree with spot. Infact, I've made a starfield aroudn the same dimensions as spot's pic & it worked great (especially with a ship moving in the opposite direction! :)

to do it in Vegas you'll need at least 2 tracks (I recomend 3), and it is a pain in the butt.

Thanks for the tip! I had already tried creating a longer (wider) still image which didn't work because the heighth was set to correspond with the project. But using your 3550 x 550 size worked perfect.

I was beginning to think that the pan/crop in Vegas was restricted to the project size itself, and that imported images which have larger dimensions were forced to fit within those dimensions. Glad to see that we actually can do a long pan across an image.
