Stop clips moving along timeline but still allow split and trim?

Is there a way to stop clips moving along the timeline, but still allow splitting and trimming them? I have 13 video tracks lipsynced to a song and as I mess about with them I inevitably end up accidentally nudging one or other of them forward or backward and losing the sync. I'm using Vegas Pro 13.

You can use Ctrl-A to select all events on your timeline, then use Edit/Switches/Lock .. this locks everything and nothing will move .. but also no split or trim will work .. so when ready to do that repeat the same sequence, Ctrl A to select all, then Edit/Switches/Lock. This will unlock everything. Tedious, I admit. Once you learn to take care and handle complicated timelines (with out locking them) you will be fine. Don't know a way to lock but not really mean it.

Turn off auto ripple using either the icon on the toolbar at the bottom or Ctrl-L

Get in the habit of rippling using the keyboard so you can get exactly what you want, only when you want it.
