Stop Me From Buying Vegas 4.0

I've used VF for about 2 years - latest project was a 92 minute football hi-lite video which was flawless (some of the camera work was questionable, but the computer and software had no problems) - VF has generally done everything I've needed for the video transitions, titles, and special effects. However, after using Vegas 4.0 beta for ~ 2 weeks, I'm hooked on some of the advanced transitions and special effects. Does anyone know if VF will be upgraded in the near future, or do I have to submit and open up my wallet to buy Vegas 4.0???

I doubt if VF will ever be comparable to VV4. Not at $60 (US) vs. $400 or more. You might wait and see if there are good deals on VV3. It is far more advanced than VF, but might not cost as much as VV4.

Only Sonic Foundry knows for sure if there will be a Video Factory 3. I'd say 3 is likely since so many companies (Sony, Nova Development) license Video Factory currently and I would think Sonic Foundry would miss the extra revenue if they discontinued VF. Not to mention VF is a good "gateway" product (many people eventually upgrade to Vegas).

Still, it is highly unlikely that VF 3 will be better than Vegas 4. So don't feel bad about upgrading to Vegas 4.
