Stop Motion Capture - Possible with Vegas?

BarbOrdell wrote on 11/18/2002, 6:39 PM
Is there a function withing the Vegas set of scripts or plugins that will allow me to capture frames one at a time with a click of the mouse or key? This function is available with Premiere as one of the standard capture modes. With this feature you can capture as many frames as you want from a live video feed, one at a time ..and it builds into a single AVI when you say you're done. Great for claymation type work. Any help here?

I don't believe that VV can do it, though I would like to see it. You can try ScenalizerLive, which can do it. Try a free download at:

www.scenalizerlive.com

I believe. If not, do a search through this forum (using the search function), and the address will show up within the last two months.

Looks like a neat program, spelled "Scenalyzer." I have an analog video camera, does it work with that?

Hi All,

Vegas Capture can grab stills from a live camera feeding a firewire card. You can grab as many as you like manually, or use a keyboard-macro as an intervelometer to press the button at predetermined intervals.

So, in Barb's case, a convertor to 1394 (or a DV camera that passes the live signal) would be the way to get the video into the Vegas Capture.

Vegas can easily import the image sequence for rendering as video.
