Stop to Menu

Here's a simple question from a simple minded guy.

In DVDA3, how do I make a video return to the last menu when pressing the stop button. I have created a project with multple sub menus. When stopping a video clip, the DVD player stops (black)...press play and it returns to the main menu.

It's Friday and my poor old brain is just tired!

Thanks

You don't. Stop means Stop. This is how DVD players (and remotes) work. There's no way to make DVDA, or any other authoring app that I'm aware of, get around that. (This is probably where ScottW tells me there are apps that can do it, 'cause damn that guy knows his sh---stuff.)

The closest you could do is either:

a) Add a jacket picture, which won't go to the menu from the Stop button, but will at least give the viewer something pretty to look at (on players that support it).

b) Or disable the Stop button during playback of that video, which, in my opinion, would be annoying as hell to the viewer. ;)

This is where I agree with Rob about the Stop button.

You can prohibit the user from using the Stop button, but you can't change what the button does. Moreover, the "Play" behavior after pressing Stop will be player dependant. Some players will resume at the point you stopped; other players may return to whatever is specified for first-play.

Thanks guys!

That's what I thought. I have a customer that seems to think he should have a psychic remote that would allow him simply to "will" his selections.

I will tell him that I have "spoken to the experts"!

Thanks again
