Stoped recognise DV cameras

Greetings, this is my first post to this forum. I am a recent up-grade to Vages video 3.00 from VF 2.00a. Everything is going great except Vegas has suddenly stoped recognise my DV cameras, Sony Digital 8 and Panasonic MiniDV interfaced through IEEE 1394 card.
However, VF 2.00a is working fine.

My system is a P3 1gb with 2 x 30 gb Ultra DMI-100 HDs, I always defrag before an edit session.

If anyone can throw some light on this I would be most grateful.

before posting, read through the forum messages and utilize the search function in this forum. your question was addressed just a few posts down.

you probably need to fix your Capture folders under Disk Management in Preferences. that fixed it for me! it's a bug that will hopefully be addressed in the next release.

good luck.

Thank you for your lecture on how to use the Forum. As this is a new version of Vegas, it my be best not to discourage people from the opportunity to report any problems that they may be experiencing. As a professional television producer of 30 years standing and as a person who has been using computer technology for 7 years, I don’t seek help until I have exhausted all possibilities.

At the moment we are evaluating Sonic Foundry, products for use in our multimedia production and the problem I am experiencing dose not seem to be related to the simple solution you suggest. Incidentally, this is not the only problem we are encountering.

The capture and print to tape problem starts as soon as the capture program starts with the message “The device Microsoft DV camera or VCR could not be found”. Other capture programs, such as, VF 2.00 are working OK. I am going to do a re-install to see if this solves the problem.
