Storyboard ???

It looks like VV3 does not have a storyboard. Is there another way in VV3 to (pre)organize events in a table like manner with names, duration, etc.?

I might have missed that feature so far. VV3 seems to be a pretty powerful but also very unconventional package. Nothing works as expected, everything has to be (re)learned when coming from other packages.

There are no storyboard or "bin" features in VV. This may stem from the Sonic Foundry emphasis on working directly in the timeline.

That said, many users create a number of folders to segregate their images, sounds, clips, etc. - all inside a primary project folder. Additionally, any clips in the media-pool represent the entire captured clip, not the trimmed smaller pieces of a larger clip.

(A thought I had recently, is to use a muted video track for holding elements, but I don't yet have a good assessment of the impact on performance that might have. )

There *is* a feature in VV3 that moves the product a little closer to the convention... In the Explorer window, you may select the "region view" and see regions marked in the trimmer. This is somewhat helpful, but there is no window (aside of the timeline) where you can drag these elements and storyboard.

This issue is my pet-peeve on VV. I am very impressed with the powerful features and intuitive UI, but I want "bin-type" storyboarding too.

Comming for the real world of production for about 20 years, I found the storyboard layout to be more of a problem for me than a help. The timeline layout has won out in most professional packages. VV3 has a nice feature that it doesn't jut show the first frame of a clip, but in fact shows frames as space is available on the timeline.

I'm thinkin' that the timeline *in conjunction with bins* has "won out". Is there a professional NLE out there that doesn't feature a bin-type / storyboard feature?
