Hello everybody

I have been away for such a long time.,,,but I'm back because I miss it. I just purchased a GoPro HD Hero2 Vcam (still on the way) which produces H264codec-MP4 files. I currently have the VMSP 9.0 and it states that it supports the format. Is there any users out there that may share experiences, good and bad? And because I've been away for awhile, I was thinking about upgrading to the VMSP 11.0 or should I wait for 12.0

Experieince is the best teacher and I know this forum has both ! Thanks in advance for your responses!

MP4 and AVCHD are not one and the same. AVCHD will work beautifully in Vegas Movie Studio HD -- especially in version 11.

GoPro MP4s, like video from smart phones, can often be less of a fit. It's possible -- but you'll likely need to render your timeline often, and the longer your video is, the more the program will bog down.

On the other hand, some people are successfully using the two together.

I'd recommend downloading the free trial of the program before you buy it -- or, if you already own the program, doing a test run with some borrowed GoPro footage before you invest too much time or money on either or both.

This is definitely one of those "your mileage may vary" situations. So I'd recommend you make sure your workflow works on your computer before I bought this program and that camcorder and embarked on a major project with the two.

Thanks Steve.

I already ordered the GoPro Hero2 which is an upgrade from my current 2010 Tachyon XC. I've been using the VMSP 9 to edit the AVI files the XC creates.

Trial and Error test run as soon as I get the Hero2 in.
