In another thread, I posted a problem regarding strange capture behavior. Sony repsonded in that thread and I am also posting the email reply here as it is failry important.

Thank you for writing. There is a bug in Screenblast Movie Studio 3.0a - the items in Video Capture are mislabeled and therefore not displaying correctly. It should be corrected in a future patch or update.

In the meantime, when you go to Screenblast Video Capture, go to Options-->Preferences-->Capture. Clicking the question mark (upper right corner) and using it on the items show what the items actually are. You will find "Enable DV Scene Detection" is actually the first item, mislabled "Double-Click in Clip Explorer plays clip".
