Strange Cursor Behavior in VMS

Hello All:

I am using VMS Platinum ProPack 9.0b.

I've been on vacation from video for a couple of months, so I haven't been using Vegas too much. But I am returning to work next week, so I've been playing with VMS just to get back into the swing of things.

Lately I have noticed that when I want to select a group of events by pressing Shift and then clicking the last event, my cursor becomes jiggly and blinky and it jumps to the upper left quadrant of my screen. In the past I have successfully used this command, but not recently. Very strange!

I am using Vista SP2. I haven't changed any cursor/mouse settings in ages. I'm thinking I've somehow changed a setting for the "select" command in Vegas? Thinking I have forgotten the command, I have tried to select using CRTL and CRTL+Shift, etc., but no luck.

For now I am selecting using the menu command. Vegas is working fine otherwise.

Has anyone else seen this sort of thing?

Kim

Never seen anything like that due to Vegas. However, i do get some weird things similar to that when the batteries in my cordless mouse are about to die.

Good advice. My mouse battery is a bit old and it does do some strange things just before it fizzles out.

Just for fun, I tried the "select" command one more time in VMS before changing the battery. Everything works fine. I have not changed any settings, and I haven't rebooted. Strange indeed.

I'll grab a new battery for good measure.
