Strange filesystem activity

Hello all,

My computer guy is here at the moment, and we're troubleshooting a peculiar problem I'm having with a certain Vegas project. The project loads fine, and is responsive for a few minutes, but without warning Vegas will suddenly hourglass. We've used filemon to capture IO events for one minute (note: filemon is now discontinued, see process monitor: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645).

In under one minute, filemon registered 188,615 filesystem events, in a 29MB logfile! From reading the logs, it appears that most of the activity is related to either "Vegas Profiles.ini", or the "Vegas Pro Redo Buffer XX.tmp" (also Vegas Pro Undo Buffer XX.tmp). If you're interested in the log, see this link: http://www.mediafire.com/?j7fzff3291rm8vl

I have cleared all my cache and settings (CTRL + SHIFT followed by running Vegas). I also use Raylight Ultra for handling MXF files, which is updated to the latest version (1.3). I am running on Windows XP SP3, and I have no antivirus programs running.

As a final note, I will say that this seems specific to this project. I have not been able to replicate this behavior with other projects stored on the very same drive, also using high-definition mxf files.

Do all of your tmp drives have space available? (Options / Preferences / General tab / Temporary files folder)
Check your memory usage in Task Manager to see if you are hitting your disk swap file? Nesting can take a ton of memory, if you use that.
