Strange Problem

I'm also posting this in the ACID forum as I think it is inter-related.

Create a region for loop playback. Set project up as 5.1
Play loop. Meters in surround mixer update as they should UNTIL it loops. Then they no longer update if I have run ACID 5 on the machine.

Once the problem occurs, I can scrub the region with the thumb scrubber and the meters return to functioning and will loop and function in V6.

This occurs in both V5 and V6 and ACID 5. Did not occur before the install of V6/ACID. Did reinstall V6, as ACID was installed after.

In ACID you I cannot figure how to get the meters to restore.

If I switch the project to STEREO in ACID the meters behave fine. Switch it back to 5.1 and meters fail.

Does not happen in ACID 4. Everything works as it should even when other version open at same time fail.

Using a Creative Audigy. Tried all drivers via the preferences, MS Mapper, Direct, ASIO etc - all behave the same.

Edit: In ACID 5 meter can be restored by using the channel mapping tool (I think thats the name) in the surround mixer window to reassign Front L/R to someplace else and back to where it belongs. Then meters behave fine.

I cannot reproduce this at all.

There is no dependency between ACID or Vegas having run or being installed on the same machine with respect to metering.

Can you describe the project you are doing this in?
Are any FX on buses or tracks?
How are things routed from tracks to buses?

No FX at all. It happens with even the simplest of sound tracks. I thought the products might share something in the surround mixer as that is where it gets strange.

It seems to be consistent across projects.

These are two very small projects including media.

In vegas you need to double click the bottom track to create the region - otherwise the error doesn't always occur. In acid the region is there for you and seems to always occur.

Downloaded, but windows says they are corrupt and can't open.

Try these

www.orcatekproductions.com\V6_Surround.veg
www.orcatekproductions.com\PINK.acd
www.orcatekproductions.com\Audio.zip

The zip file contains the media for both projects.

Audio.zip contains only the rendered output.

Orcatek:

I can reproduce this behavior in ACID. Still trying in Vegas.

Thanks

It seems to happen in Vegas after I have run ACID. If I boot the machine and start Vegas, all is well unitl I run ACID.
