stream offline

hello

I have reinstalled studio 9 onto a new computer and now having trouble seeing the video but hearing the audio just fine. At first I assumed it was the codec but it plays fine outside of studio. I read online to uncheck a box in general settings but that has not worked.

Any suggestions? Maybe there is a way to apply the current codecs in the newly installed studio 9?

Thanks

Is it an MP4 or MOV file?
What version of Quicktime is on your new computer?
Movie Studio 9 needs QT 7.6.2 or earlier.

it is actually an avi file, but i have edited this file before with no problems on a different computer with this software, so I know it is compatible.

So it is a codec problem though? If so, I have the codecs installed, is there a way to load it into vegas studio?

Yes, it is a codec problem. If this is an XViD format for example, inside the AVI, then you need that codec installed on your PC.

that is what I assumed at first, but it plays fine outside the software. I have no problem viewing in WMP for example.

So I have the codec but I was wondering what I can do to activate the codec in studio without reinstalling the codec to be enabled in studio. If its too much trouble I can just reinstal them but I just figured there was a way around that so I dont ahve to go and reinstall all my codecs. I also hear installing large codec packs is not recommeded.
