Streaming video over net

I want to stream a dvd I have done to let a friend view it.
I have extracted the mpeg file from the dvd so that is no problem. What format is best to preseve highest quality (both have broadband) and can I set up a "peer to peer" to avoid having to transfer a large file (1 hours worth) to a server?

Any help would be appreciated.

you might try www.winmx.com using .mov Quicktime format I found to be pretty cool though you'll have to play with diffrent settings to adjust to your needs/situation

If you just want to transfer the file to the other person via a peer-to-peer mode - try one of the IM clients (like microsoftt messenger) as they all have a file-transfer mode.
