Is there a way to stretch the duration of a video clip? In iMovie, you could change the duration of a video clip and it would slow/speed accordingly.
I have a video clip of about a second that I need to stretch to 5 or so. Any hints?
This is a very usefull feature of Vegas. If you group a sequence of events then use the Control key when you stretch the clips (look for the wavy underline) then you can stretch or compress. There is a limit though ... 3 times I think without looking.
The limit is 4, actually. If that isn't enough then one can render out the slowed clip to a new file, replace it with this new file, and stretch again.
If there's no audio involved then a velocity envelope can also be applied to allowe an additional 3x speed change for a total of 12x. However, velocity envelopes don't affect audio so this may or may not be useful.
If its a single clip then obviously there's no need to group before changing the speed.
If you put in the word "stretch" you will get a list of results, and third from the top is "Adjusting an Event's Length". How much more helpful can they get?
