stretching clips (feature request?)

There are multipile variations to this but the main one is this.

If I have a clip in the media pool that is 5 seconds long and I drag it into the timeline I am 99.9% of the time NEVER wanting it to "loop". I would really like it if there was a "preference" that didn't allow "dragging beyond length of clip". I see now that a little white marker shows up in the clip to signify where its going to loop. Maybe this is one of those things I'll get used to. This is also irritating when I'm doing slowmo to a clip. Again, now that I see these little white markers... I just might get used to it.

Turn OFF "Enable looping on events by default"

Turning off this setting still allows the edge of the event to be dragged out past the end of the clip; it just repeats the last frame rather than starting over at the beginning. Another setting would be nice that simply prevents moving the edge of the event past the end of the clip. This would be particularly helpful when using a velocity envelope to slow down a clip.
