Struggling to properly motion track with the Mocha plug-in

Xnai wrote on 10/7/2024, 9:15 AM

Hi all, I am sort of new to using Vegas and I have been running into an issue with motion tracking using the Mocha plug-in. Basically, the tracking does work but when I insert the image into the part of the video I want to track, it just doesn't quite fit properly into the video (like the image either becomes way too small or narrow) and resizing the image is something I am not sure how to do. Here is an image link to the exact issue I am facing: https://imgur.com/a/cr7MtLg

Is there any fix around this? How would I properly make the head (image I'm using is a png of someone's head) fit into the part of the video that is being tracked?

I am using Vegas Suite 22 and my operating system is Windows 11.

Its not a situation where you need a fix. Using Mocha effectively and getting great results takes lots of practice, and understanding on how Mocha thinks.

What you do is go on the BorisFX Mocha website and watch carefully the many tutorials they have there while following along on your system. There are tutorials there on almost every subject matter. And even if they don't use Vegas, the same procedures still apply.

If you are referring to Mocha Vegas, as written above, you have to spend time with the plugin and follow the instructions on how to use it.

Thanks for showing me how to upload a picture. I have already seen lots of videos but I'm still stuck somehow, I'll keep trying but it seems like I am hitting a brick wall at the moment.

@Xnai Hi, unfortunately I can't add to what has already been written above in the other comments, I've had Mocha Pro standalone/plugin for about 6yrs & still wouldn't say I know it all. You're going to be 'hitting a brick wall' for quite a while,

Mocha is an excellent bit of kit but don't expect to learn it in a week, a month or even maybe in a year, keep trying & things will slowly make sense. Upload as many pictures as you can of Vegas & Mocha, that's the only way people here will be able to help, the more pictures & information the better 👍
