studdering preview, please help..

Hi. I have begun experiencing shuddering video during playback. It's periodic. It seemed fine before I played around with video card settings trying to do preview in a second monitor (using Nvideo GeForce4 and SVideo out). Drives are set to DMA. I have the latest version Vegas. I have done video editing on this machine before w/o trouble but with a different editor. I can't be 100% sure this didn't occur before, maybe I didn't notice it before on the small preview window. I noticed it on the Tv monitor with firewire through my cam.

I tried to reverse my changes but I notice there are 4 monitors showing up under "monitors" in the device manager. 3 are listed as "default monitor" then there's the one I actually use. When I delete them they return when I restart. Not exactly sure what the problem is. Any advice?

Thanks in advance. Mark G

Still nothing?

How about links to some sites that explain setting up Vegas better and fixing common problems?

Thanks

I used a Nvidia Geforce to try and preview on an external monitor, and could never get it to work, but I can always preview to an external monitor via firewire, through my camera. I preview it to a TV next to my computer.

You might want to contact Nvidia for support on this, it seems like a problem they could help you with.

My friend has studdering preview before. He said it happened from day one. I fixed it by simply disable the preview in computer. Not sure it will help you or not.
