unrestricted in what way?

cant use it for commerical purposes. Its for learning/academic just as the name implies. However, there is no difference in commerical/academic versions feature wise. Just profit wise.

According to several earlier posts, there is no difference between academic and non-academic licenses (other than price). Check some of the posts in the following thread:

Do you have the pricing for academic licenses? I am curious about them and can't seem to find them on the site. Could you post the URL or a link if you have them?

Found it here. I guess you can't buy it directly from Sonic Foundry.

Academic pricing is offered by different vendors. Sony has a link on the site that links to academic resellers. I bought mine today for $250 from this site http://store.yahoo.com/studentsoftwarestore/sonicfoundry.html and got my email with all three serial numbers within 3 hours.

hi acidsex, did that enable u to download version 5 from that student software site?

Hello,
What's up bowman? From what I understand there is no difference even in what you can do with it. The license has not changed at all. From what I get from talking to other people and e-mailing sony you can use it for commercial purposes. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I ordered my copy today from academic superstore!

Hey,
Central NY! I didn't get an ETA, did u? Ya see, they have to process my proof of being a student. I faxed it to them, but haven't heard anything back yet!
