Studio 10: AVCHD join files / camcorder effects

Hi to all; i have shot a concert; but my camcorder split the whole concert into 3 or 4 separate .mts files. If i put them in sequence on the timeline there is a small "gap" in the audio (the video is ok).
Is there a way to join them together without the audio gaps?

Another question: how i can create some kind of effect or transition like the "broken recording" you see in most found footage films; like Cloverfield

I know some will have a different view but I use the download software that came with my camera to seamlessly join them and create an amalgamated file.

Well i used to use Eidus Neo booster 2 that came with my camcorder; but i lost the cdkey so i can't re-install it anymore.

Anyway i found this Avidemux that does the job.

You must import using the camcorder software or Device Explorer -- NOT Windows Explorer.

Is this AVCHD? I have no problem joining these files together after copying them to the hard drive. I use Windows Explorer to transfer them, then in a DOS window type in a command like this:

copy /b 00000.mts + 00001.mts + 00002.mts combined.mts

This does a seamless join of the three files and creates a new combined file with no glitches, skips, or dropouts. There aren't a lot of formats this works with, but it does work with AVCHD.

I'm guessing it depends upon the camcorder as it works only some of the time with my JVC files. I find that tsMuxeR works on all of them.

DOS concatenate does not fix avchd indices. TSMuxer may.
What happens at the break points is unique to each camera brand. Therefore, use the dedicated software that came with your camera.
