Sub-clips

If I'm creating sub-clips from regions (either using "Save As" and checking "Copy Trimmed Media Files" OR using Ult S 3), isn't this adding an additional generation of rendering that can lower the quality of the files that will go into my final product?

I had been just breaking up the original LONG clips on the timeline and splitting/moving the portions of video and then just rendering once.

Not to worry - you are not touching or affecting the quality of your original.

The timeline is a "map" to your source material.
Making copies or subclips of your map doesn't affect your source whatsoever.

Vic,
Thanks for the timely response. I just gave it a shot; that's a phenomenal option.

I ended up having to do it just with Right-click, Create Sub-clip in the trimmer. Not sure if anyone uses Ult S3 for this... I can't get the Regions to Subclips or Imbedded Regions to Subclips to work. I was trying to use the Convert Markers/Entire Project option, as I thought I could set the Regions for several clips from the Trimmer, then Ult S3 would search the project for any clips with Regions and create subclips. I'm not having success. Any help with the workflow for this process?
