Subclips / Regions

OK, so I am new to Vegas, so forgive me if I'm being dumb. I scoured the internet and found nothing to answer this question.

Subclips - Vegas doesn't have them? I found tutorials telling me how to create subclips, but the buttons/menu options they referred to don't exist.

Regions - OK, so I can maybe live with no subclips, frustrating as that may be. In the Explorer I can click on a file and see its associated regions. But I CAN'T get this view in the media explorer, right? So if I want to be able to browse through the regions (poor man's subclips) in a project, I need to copy all the source files to a folder and use the Explorer view, not the media view.

Is this correct? Or is there a magic way to create subclips, or a view somewhere of all the regions in a project? I can't believe there wouldn't be one of these things. Trimming long takes/interviews into useable parts before assembling is a pretty standard workflow, and it seems Vegas doesn't really support it.

Can someone please enlighten me?

Perhaps those features are only in the Pro version? Look in the help file to see which features are in the Movie Studio version vs the Pro version. Both things you mentioned are in my Pro version. I don't have a VMS version installed.

The brand new release today of VMS 10 HD mentions "subclips in the trimmer" as one of the new features.

See the fifth item listed here under "Video Features":
