I've been working with chromakeying, using blue chromakey fabric, and have managed to get some reasonably uniform lighting with a set of halogens in various locations. Using Vegas Video 4, the chromakey removes the background well enough, but the subject becomes somewhat transparent. This happens even in areas that don't seem to have much blue content, such as skin tones. Can anyone give me some insight into how the chromakey function operates, and what produces the partial transparency effect? I can see a need for additional color processing, but it would help to understand the process. Or, just any general hints for dealing with this problem would be appreciated. Thanks!
