I don't know that I've ever seen a DVD whose subtitles had shadows. Could you give an example? Maybe post a screencap?

What other features do you want? What does it suck? I don't see anything sucking around here. Try to set some subs with Subtitle Workshop then you'll see that DVDA is a piece of cake. SubtitleWorkshop is such a great application from Urusoft (Uruguay) but it's rather difficult to set those ins and outs for subs while DVDA makes this task much easier. I mean, if you are going to start making your subs from scratch, DVDA is the best bet, even though SubtitleWorkshop is great for correcting ripped subs and saving to other formats.
