Subtitling in latest version of DVD Architect

Hi all,

I'm wondering if there has been any improvements to the subtitling options in the latest version of DVDA? I'm still using 5.0, and for Blu-ray discs, the jagged, aliased text, and tiny 1-pixel wide outlines are unacceptable. The best I can do with it is to import "graphic subtitles" with red text and green or blue outlines to allow access to a wider outline option (using "Color Channel" highlight mapping). Unfortunately, with this method, the text is un-editable and still shows up very aliased.

Thanks so much!

I was instructed to download a trial of the latest version to see. Unfortunately, nothing has changed for subtitle formatting options in DVDA 7. Subtitles still have a 1-pixel wide outline with no option to increase, and no drop shadow option either. The anti-aliasing **may** have improved slightly, but aliasing still appears. That is really too bad. 😩

As a workaround, you could create two versions of the video, one with no subtitles, and one with open subtitles created in Vegas the way you want them to look. Of course, you lose the option to turn them off and on at will, but it can give you a look that you might want.

Thank you, David, for your helpful reply. Yes, I did consider that. At present, I'm trying the red text with blue outline option so I can make use of graphic subtitles with DVDA's highlight mapping and still have toggle-able subtitles. It's far from perfect, but it's way more legible than the built-in subtitle ability in DVDA.
