Sudden scanning problem

I have an odd issue... I moved my computer tonight and now my scanner isn't recognized. by Vegas5. I think the first time I tried to acquire a picture after the move, my USB may not have been completely connected and I got a message saying there is no connection to camera, and it gives me the option to try and make a connection, I choose TWAIN and it finds my scanner/printer (HP PSC1300 series) and then it goes to the scanning page, but then goes back to Vegas and says an error has occured. It does that everytime now, and if I choose WIA , it totally locks up. I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer software and no success. Also If I try TWAIN too many times Vegas locks up. I wasn't having any trouble before I moved my computer. All my connections are fine; I can print and scan in a different program. Anyone have anything I can try? Should I reinstall Vegas?
If I reinstall Vegas will I lose any of my work? (By the way, I did have a crash this afternoon and the error was an NVIDIA driver issue, if that is relevent) Thanks to any help!!!

MM - I really don't know IF this is the same as my problem, when I used Scanners and V5 - but your post kinda rang a bell for me - so here it is. Hope it helps. As I say it may not be your issue .. .

My scanner was working fine until I moved everything and I think I had a bad usb connection the first time I tried to use it in Vegas after the move. Is it ok to try and reinstall vegas? Do I have to uninstall it first? Will I lose anything?
