Suddenly... the events are blank

A friend sent me a VEG file he'd been editing. The last time he opened it all but a few of the events had mysteriously turned into "empty events". Not "offline events" but totally vacant "empty events". There are just a couple of audio events scattered about that didn't get lost.

Has anyone had this happen? Any magic solutions to get the work back? Replace media is not an option since these aren't media events. Something must have gotten corrupt, no?

Yes, that happened to me once.
I saved it and closed out and re-opened it, and all was fine.

Hope this works!

Thanks, we tried that but unfortunately it didn't recover the file. It's the strangest thing... media events turning into blank events?! I would think if the file got corrupt that it wouldn't open. This is too weird.

Have you looked at the .bak files for that particular set of events/veg file?

Yup, we checked the .bak file - it has the same issue although a previous (and much less edited) version of the VEG has its timeline intact. Thanks though.
