Suggestion for Further releases (& a tip about scribble strips)

Don't know if this applies to MAC, but definitely an issue
with PC users.

Be CAREFUL what you 'scribble' when naming tracks...

If you use a slash, you will CRASH! Vegas attempts to save
the .wav files using the text in the scribble strips as
filenames. I'm not sure what other characters are illegal,
but slashes will kill you.

SF - Please put a simple validation of the strings typed
into the scribble strips. After I started crashing
repeatedly, I uninstalled and re-installed both my hardware
and software before realizing that Vegas was crashing
because I had a slash in a scribble strip. Save others the
hassle!!!

Yeah - this took me a while to figure out too. I would name my
scribble strip v/o and then it would crash. Vegas 2.0 seems to have
solved this...

Yes, this has been fixed for the Vegas Video Beta and will be fixed
in Vegas Video and Vegas Audio when they are released. We replace
dangerouse characters with an underscore in the filename. You can
still use them in the scribble strip.

For posterity, try to avoid these characters in Vegas Pro 1.0
scribble strips, as well:

/\:*?"|

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Regards,
Jason.

Additionally, no version of Vegas ever crashes in the MAC OS.

Of course, it never installs either. : )
