Anybody else besides me ever notice that when using GearShift to create a batch of DV proxies, Vegas is simultaneously trying to render out audio peaks? I discovered that if I shut off the "Waveforms and Frames" visualization before doing the proxy renders, I gained about 5-8% in render performance.
Yes, I realize that Vegas will eventually need to generate those waveform graphics, but I'm assuming here that the partial waveform render that takes place while rendering proxies gets wiped out as soon as GearShift goes to the next clip in the sequence.
Would it be possible for GearShift to temporarily shut down the Waveform and Frame render while rendering proxies?
