Suggestion re: V4 beta

I don't own Vegas but would like to.

OK, in the Event (not track) Video FX Window, if I want to play that particular event in order to decide where to put a particular keyframe, I can press F12 and the video plays in the preview window.

However, the cursor in the keyframe box does not move.

Therefore, I can't pause the video and insert a keyframe at the spot shown in the preview window. Instead, I have to watch the timecode, remember the timecode and move to the proper spot using the arrow keys (or Alt-Arrow keys) in order to insert a keyframe. This seems stupid to me. To me it would make sense for there to be transport controls in the keyframe area so I could have a "play -> pause -> insert keyframe" workflow. Or am I just missing something?

<Edit> I just noticed that I can sync the keyframe cursor with the timeline cursor but that requires changing focus (annoying)</Edit>

You can do what you want already - use Ctrl+F12 to pause playback from any window. This only works in Vegas 4, not version 3.

(There is an option in Preferences to change the space bar and F12 keys to Play/Pause instead of Play Stop, which is great for working in Windows with keyframes, but I hate it for general transport use!)

Esc = Play Stop
Enter = Play Pause
Spacebar is selectable to either Play Pause or Play Stop
