Support for the Sony CDU948s... When, if ever?

I am using a Sony CDU948s.

This particular unit was manufactured in July 98, therefore
it is not *very* old, nor *too* new.

Will CD Architect be updated to support this unit or must I
purchase another CD-Writer?

P.S. I noticed another user asked about this drive some
time ago on this board and apparently received no response.

Hi!.. i've a Sony CDU948s too.

I was trying burn with the old CDarchitect 4.0 and the only way to do it is selecting a older recorder CDU942x... it burn only a 2x speed and send a error message when finish, but the CD burned work fine.
I try to do the same with new CD Architect 5.0 and now is impossible burn it, many errors with the commands to the burner are shown... and i dont want buy another burner.
If you find another trick to permit burn with the CDU948s please post it... i think no support for cdu948s will coming soon.

bye!

Have you tried CDA5 in demo mode on this drive?

Did you try the generic MMC compatible scsi or atapi driver, whichever applicable ?

I was try all other drives models in CDA4 but nothing work, the same happend with generic devices.
In CDA5, the software recongnize my CDU948s like a CDU92x, but when i try to burn , it send me a message indicating that the drive don't recognize the commands. :(
