Surround Panning

Hi

I have used the search but it seems all surround problems relate to V6 I have 5d.

I have set up my project for 5.1 surround and have 4 tracks (2 Surround and two LFE)

I have added two key frames to the first surround track so I can move an effect gradually from the rear to the front.

The first key frame has the sound at the rear with a smooth setting and the second keyframe (over 7 seconds later) I changed to the front also with a smooth setting.

When I checked the first keyframe it, too, had moved to the front. I changed it again to the rear and checked the second keyframe which now was at the rear.

Why is this happening? Have I missed an important setting to make?

Cheers

Ok I think I found the answer after searching a little more and reading the help again.

Basically, it seems that even for V5 I need to click on the Automation settings for the tracks and select 'Show Automation' and the choose either Latch or Touch. Both seem tto do the same thing and I can't find anything about this.

Any help, please?

Cheers

I got caught on something similar to this. Are you using the "Show Automation" on the TRACK, not the master mixer? ;-{|>

AARGHH!! ARE U NUTS!!!! (j/k im in a stupid mood)

firstly Kill off one of your LFE tracks, coz if they start to overlap, youll get phasing and you DONT want that..

Hi Stewade

Yes - I searched this forum much deeper to find my answers. But I am still unsure what the diffrerence between Latch & touch is

To DJPadre

Surely you need LFE for each track so the bass is redirected?

Nope - not nuts - just a little crazy - but thanks for asking;-)
