SVP13 Reads AVCHD timecode, but not MPG4 timecode

I have a formal inquiry submitted to Sony on this issue, but I thought I see if anyone else is experiencing this: I shoot with a Canon XA25 for corporate work, and when using the AVCHD option, my timecode shows up fine in SVP13...but when I shoot with the MPG4 option, SVP13 does not show the real timecode. Any thoughts from SVP13 users?

Thanks!

What's the MPG4 wrapped in? Is a .mov file?

If it is originally in .mov container - it can be read out by a fairly inexpensive utility. Not a problem to incorporate with it into a Vegas workflow.

There really isn't a universal mp4 time code format AFAIK, its a container format, not acquisition such as avchd.

DVMP Pro will display metadata such as timecode, exposure settings and GPS. If it doesn't show any timecode for your MP4 then it would seem that it was not inserted by your camera in the first place, and therefore nothing that you can do about it.

Mediainfo shows a text stream which contains the timecode in my AVCHD files. Does it show any streams other than video and audio in your MP4 files?
