Sweep Effect Over Multiple Images/Videos?

Wade D McGinnis wrote on 9/12/2013, 8:32 PM
I have been trying to figure this out by myself and sadly, while I get the effect I want, the quality of the footage is horrible.

What I am trying to do, is have multiple images/videos all over the screen. The scene starts with me having focused on one area where you just see that image, the scene flows around viewing other images/videos till the scene pulls back to reveal all the images/videos.

What I am curious is if Movie Studio is capable of this or will I have to upgrade/buy additional add-ons to make this work?

If I do not need to upgrade, does anyone know how I could pull this off without hindering the quality of the images and videos?

Any help here would be awesome! So far I can get all the images/videos on the screen and have the pan tool sweep over everything. However like I said, the quality of these images takes hit because of the "stretch to fill" option.

Let me know and thank you!!!

That's certainly possible, Wade, but it's going to take a LOT of work and many many tracks of video.

It sounds like you're trying to imitate a look that's often created using After Effects, which does this kind much more easily, since it's designed for creating complicated visual and 3D effects.

I don't know, you may, just may pull it off in VMS - but would be really very labor intensive to do.
In VegasPro you will have a little more control, and best-of-all there are many third-party plugins that can take effects to the next level. Some examples are Mayhem from Vasst , NBlueEfx multi-panel screen, some multi-screen tools, and Ready to Go templates from DigitalJuice.

The ultimate control is in After Effects, but with a very steep learning curve and some problematic issues with workflow in VegasPro.

Thank you! Guess I will try doing a free trial of After Effects and see where I can go from there.

Some titling software may also help build a videowall (Heroglyph by proDAD and NewBlueFX Titler are examples).

If you only have 5-10, the multi-track (track motion) will work well too all within VMS.
