Switching to Laptop--which soundcard should I use?

Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone to laptop for recording.
I was using Gina on my desktop and had good luck with it. Have heard a lot about
Delta though and wondered if this was time for a change. Any soundcard/hardware
out there that connects through USB/firewire? Thanks for any advice

Hello,

I use a RME Hamerfall DSP cardbus, is the best solution for me (Very low latecy) and no troubles with the drivers (all Win, Mac OS and Linux). www.rme-audio.de

I other Laptop (I use for RTA in live performances), I have a USB Pre, is a very nice USB device, with two imputs and outputs and a little mixer, with a very high quelity mic preamps, and is a bus powered device, www.usbpre.com

I have been using Digigram VXPocket V2 (Type II PCcard) in my Toshiba laptop (Win XP pro) without problems. The final XP driver (Feb 2002) is working fine for me...

Good luck

Echo just released a new USB interface sound card, just for laptop use. Visit their website at WWW.ECHO.COM

RME Hammerfall DSP works well, check out other posts on this forum. Very good value for money. No built-in mic preamps like the USBpre, but multichannel and hardware mixing facilities.
