Sync Cursor, Brightness/Contrast, FX Track...

Okay, I hope somebody out there understands what I'm asking here.

I'm editing a video. All I wanna do is brighten it at certain points, and darken it at certain points.

It seems I can do this in real time. If I enable the "sync cursor" while using the brightness/contrast video effect, I can simply slide the lever on the bar (or whatever you call it) and Vegas follows my motions. Perfect.

The problem is, when I let go of the lever, it doesn't "stay put" where I last left it. It kinda "snaps back" to the original position. How do I get it to stay where I let go?

Hope this is clear enough. thx in advance...

Sorry Guys - I don't get that at all?

We working at Track Level yeah? Well, I can "waggle" the slider for a Brightness Fx I've applied AT Track Level and I get a series of DIAMONDS on the Main Timeline AND the Fx Menu Timeline too. When I let go it remains at the end I waggled the slider to.

Perhaps I've understood incorrectly?

Perhaps in these cases there's been a keyframe set to "normal" at the end of the clip. Then, unless keyframes are set to hold, wherever you leave off waggling, the effect will then smoothly slide to the last keyframe's settings.

So if you're having this problem check to see if you have a keyframe at the end, and if so, try deleting it.

he is doing it on the fly,, with video playing. always goes back to preset when you let go of the slider,, least for me.. Solution -dont let go!! :)

Yup, on-the-fly for me too. Slider does NOT go back, is held where I had "waggled" to.
