I am a novice and have worked hard at learning to work with vegas and video files in general. I really enjoy this as a hobby...working with home video. I believe in the minimalist approach...appreciating subtle editing...alowing the subject be thae main focus of attention. I find the real art is taking the half decent video (at best) that I shoot and turning it into something entertaining for the family to watch and re-experience. i do't want to get in the way. Only enhance.
The point is I don't try to do anything really crazy and thats why I am so damned frustrated at some of the issues i have had. The most recent and most difficult to find a reason or solution for is what appears to be a sync problem. I just edited a recent trip using Vegas 9c. The file itself is about 45 minutes long. I just tried watching it on my Popcorn Hour (200c). About 6:30 into the video it all of a sudden went out of sync. The video looked as though it was stuttering slightly. Audio was fine...the video is off abit.
I thought that I may have messed up the edit. I opened the Veg file and began to play the video. It begain doing it at about the same spot. However, after repeated tests, it does NOT do it consistantly at the exact same spot. It is as though after a certain amount of time it just can't keep up any more and it starts messing up. It does it at many places after a while of,playing but never at the exact same spot.
What is weird is that I played another file that I rendered...I believe in the exact same way I rendered the problem file, and it played for about 10-15 minutes with no problems at all.
I have serached for similkar issues...I found a couple that seem similar but i didn't understand much of the termonology that was used so i don't know if it was the same or not. What am I missing here? Is there something i can do to prevent this??
The machine I'm using is a Vaio VGN AW190, Duo Core 2.8 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 64bit OS.
ANY help will be great;ly appreciated.
Thanks
JR
