Sync proplem using ASIO playback source

In Vegas 5, I've noticed that when you play back clips in the timeline and are using an ASIO playback source, the video and the audio do not stay in sync. In fact the audio starts to play, later followed by the video. In addition, the VU meters seem to be more in sync with the video than with the sound. My sound card is a SoundBlaster Audigy. Has anyone seen this? Is there a workaround?

I have the same sound card as you with ASIO selected in the options menu and frt., back, and center/lfe selected also. In the preferences menu I have 5.1, best, and another drive with the sound files. I do not have any sync problems but I did have a problem with the 5.1 values to the rear speakers after I assimilated the V4 file into V5.

I have never been able to get audio and video preview to sync together when using ASIO drivers and my Echo Mia sound card.

I use Windows Classic Drivers instead for this reason.

I should also mention that I am still using Windows 2000. Maybe things are better under XP. What OS are you running?

Make sure you have the latest drivers from Creative. There was a bug in earlier versions of the ASIO driver that would cause a complete timing/position corruption.
