Synching audio to video speed envelopes

I have Vegas 4, and I have not figured out how to get the audio to synch to the video when I apply speed changes using "speed/velocity" envelopes. I know about ctrl click & drag to get the audio to match slowed/ sped up video, but what about when i apply the speed envelope and transition the speed from 100 to 40% over about 4 seconds, then back up to 100%, then on up to 150%...?? If the clip has one speed for the duration, then all is good; Any help on this would be appreciated.

Dude... are you editing the same peice I am? I've been battling this for a while. I usually end up 'splitting' the audio and 'scooting' it over and re-syncing it. I would Love to hear that there's an easier or better way of doing it.

Thus far, I have kinda figured that you can open the audio 'properties' box..... set the "length" and "pitch" aswell as set a new 'length', but this is not too intuitive; and for video that has a chaning speed, just have not figured that one. If someone has ANY INFO, please help. I think After Effects can do this (I have AE 5.5), but is not so simple... and i prefer to use envelopes or "rubberbands" (as Adobe calls them).

Guys, I haven't tried this on velocity "drags" but it seems like it should work. Select both the audio and the video clips (click on one and shift-click on the other) then drag both at the same time. Does this do what you want?

I assume Ctrl-Drag is what you are suggesting. That works fine, as long as the entire event runs at the same speed.

If the video speed changes over time then there is no automatic way in Vegas to sync the audio. The best you can do is to slice the audio up into small pieces and Ctrl-Drag each one to match the video as closely as possible. If you have SoundForge then you can use the Effects / Pitch / Bend function to vary the audio velocity over time. However, there is no way to sync this to the video other than by trial and error.
