Synchronise video effects

Kvarkmeister wrote on 5/10/2019, 2:23 PM

Hello there,

I had recently picked Vegas Pro back up and its looking great in the 16th release. Everything looks smoother, however I still experience some crashing.

Off to the issue. When I try to add a video effect to multiple clips in a video at once, it does not make them have the same sync as it would in previous versions. This is not an issue for most effects, but it is frankly for the jitter film effect. When I add the effect to multiple clips, they will all jitter independently and not in sync with eachother. So it does not work for me anymore in the new version.

Does anyone have some input on this? I would appreciate it a lot, as I have a request I do not want to hold out long.

TL;DR

Adding an effect for multiple clips will not make them run in sync with eachother. Any help?

Could you offer a sample project for download?

Good day, Marco and thanks for replying! I can give you a sample tomorrow, but not today. I should have uploaded it upon posting.

Add the jitterfilm FX to the trackheader of your video track instead adding to the clips.

Hey, thanks for answering! As a matter of fact, I have already tried your suggestion, but the effects do not want to show up for some peculiar reason. I am going to look further into this method.

Here is an an example. It's a bit messy, but I think you can see that the text and the background are not running in sync.

Direct download via Google Drive

we also need any images or video you used in the project. we could use our own, but it won't guarantee we see the same thing you are.

I think I removed all the clips that involved my content, but it doesn't remove them from the project, does it? I can upload a clean project too, but I think you guys should be fine by just ignoring all the popups asking you to direct to the sources for the content. I think so, at least.

Can you tell us why you use such special projectsettings?

I thought that theoretically, these would hold the best results. I also some testing, I think I haven't found a better one yet neither that would fit my videos which have a lot of effects. Have you got any suggestions? What do you refer to as "special", mind if I ask?

I don't know what " õym videos" are but for most of my projects I use the one on the screenshot exept when most of the source files have another framerate and/or dimensions

Cool setup, I'll test that on my videos in the future! The thing is, my videos contain a lot of effects and I tried not to downscale those with lesser settings. Thanks! By the way, the "õym videos" was actually meant to be "my videos", I'll fix that right away. I was in a rush at that time.

Kvarkmeister wrote on 5/12/2019, 3:06 AM

Also, I was able to apply the effects to the whole video and it worked for this particular video. So, I guess I'll say it's resolved for now. Don't know when I have to nitpick the effects to clips, though.

That's what I would have suggested: Make a new empty parent track which will affect the child tracks and then add the effects needed to the parent track used after composite.
