Syst hangs when ext monitor is selected

Hello all.
I just installed V7 on my machine, 2G RAM, 3.0Ghrtz Intel.
I have a Visiontek ATI X1300 256 PCI connected to a Polaroid FLM 323B HDTV for previewing. DVI>HDMI connection. Another anolog monitor is connected to this card via VGA.

The primary monitor HP1703 is on a Radeon AGP 128M > VGA connection.

Whenever I open the external preview monitor , there is a little static, then hesitation in the video then the system hangs, and I will have to turn off the computer every time. I used both external monitors to test, try different memory sticks.

I have upgraded BIOS, Video Drivers, DirectX. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this issue. Would this setup work.

Just pulling something out of the air I would say either your dual monitor driver software isn't set right or V7 has some glitch in it. Recheck your dual monitor software to see which is primary, which is secondary, weather they are independent or extended.

They are extended. Should they be seperate?

What material are you Previewing from within Vegas to your ExtMon: AVIs, MPEGS, PNGs JPEGs - what?

Gracie, I am previewing MPEGS.
I also have the latest drivers for everything and latest updates including Vegas7b.
I also have NTS DV selected as the template.

Mpegs huh? That's why I asked - Yup re-proed here too.

Ah ha! The mpeg to external monitor preview lock up has struck again! We should all open support tickets, this sounds to me like it could be a bug. I've had the problem in V6 and now the latest version of V7 - has not been an issue because I rarely work with mpegs but now that Vegas can preview m2t so well...Would love to have a fix :)

I have DVD discs that were shot at my live concert. What would be the best way to import them? The only option I saw was DVD CAM.
The content was mixed live from 6 cameras.
