System crashes when rendering Quicktime

I recently upgraded to Vegas 3.0 (loving it), but any time I try to render a video in Quicktime, Vegas locks up. I can't even restart my computer; I have to unplug it. It also happens in Vegas 2.0. I have a Sony Vaio with a 1ghz AMD Athlon and Windows ME.

You'll need to perform a custom install in order to install all of the QT components. You don't get authoring in the default installation.
