SYSTEM FREEZE SYSTEM FREEZE SYSTEM FREEZE...

Well, it's done it to me again, for the umpteenth time.
Total system freeze in Vegas 2.0b. Mouse just freezes, no
Control+Alt+Delete capability. Is it a problem with this
version of Vegas, or a driver problem with my
video/soundcard, or an O/S issue?
If anyone is interested, here's my systm:

Pentium III 933
Asus CUSL-2C Motherboard with Intel 815 Chipset
384 Meg SDRAM
40 Gig WD 7200 rpm ATA 100 Hard-drive
Motu 2408 w/ PCI 324 card
Adaptec 2920 SCSI controller card
ATI Radeon 32 meg DDR video card (could this be the
problem? I am starting to wonder...)
Win 98 SE

Anyways, like I said, Vegas is freeze-happy, especially
when I am arming tracks. I'll be clicking the red track arm
button and BAM!!! Lock-ola. This is driving me crazy. I
just got this machine last week, and thought my worries
would be over. But it looks like they're just beginning. I
am currently using the demo version of Vegas, because I
want to try before I buy. And before I commit dollar one to
this software, I want to know that it's going to work
without a hitch. If anyone out there thinks they might have
some answers, I welcome your opinions and advice. That goes
for you too, Sonic Foundry support staff! Thanks a ton.
Also- on another issue, anybody had experientce with the
SoundForge 4.5/5 "Spacebar of Death" Problem? After a good
bit of shuttling/editing, hit the spacebar and BAM!!
Instant hard re-boot. OH, it's loads of fun, especially if
I haven't saved recently. Clients really dig that- you
know, watching the engineer panic when he realizes he just
lost a half-hour's worth of critical editing work on their
best song! What a hoot. Oh well- gimme a holler if youse
guys got any bright ideas!
Best of luck,
