System lock ups VMS Pro 9.0

I have not been able to render anything other than a very short video (15 minutes or less) without my system locking up. I have a pentium 3.2, run XP, and have 3.8Gig of memory. I have a internal drive 200 with 90g free and an external with 150 gig free. I have tried to render to both.

Let me be specific! As an example, I put a 32 minute retirement party collection of video together with mostly mpg files. Plays great in the preview window but when I try to render it, it seems to work until 49% is complete then it stalls. I want to make something longer than 15 minutes. I have done this over and over with different files but as the overall length increases, the likelyhood of stalling does also. I have shut off my virus protection and disabled other services. No help. I have used an internal drive and then an external drive. No good. I have made sure that the file I am rendering to for both video and audio. I have reinstalled the program. Also, no good. Any help would be appreciated.

Are your drives formatted as NTFS or FAT32?

Well, I'd suggest putting your files through MPEGRepair, to see if that fixes it, but really you're posting in the wrong place if you're using VMS ( Vegas Movie Studio ) as there is no VMS Pro, you probably have VMS Platinum which is an HD capable version of the VMS software. Vegas Pro is the $500-$600 version of the software which has some increased capabilities.

Still, I'd suggest the Mpeg Repair tool, as that's fixed Mpeg issues with many Vegas Pro Users.
