Some of us would need a dictionary of terms and abbreviations that are special to the DV world. It could sit on the top menu line right next to the FAQ. It could also be included in the product manual(s).

Ripple is such a word, hence the cheap pun in the subject line. I know what it means in normal language (more or less) but the exact meaning of it in DV editing does not give itself away easily. There are more examples, but I shall not waste Forum space on them. You get my point.
