tape suggestion

For the Mini Dv users out there, which brand of tape do you prefer? Why? There are so many options out there and I have heard that its a bad idea to be switching out brands. Apparently the lubricant used in the tapes can gum up the works in my camara. So instead of experimenting by trying out different brands I'ld like to hear some opinions.

I use Panasonic and TDK, but that's just because they were there when I wanted to buy some. I've not heard of problems with any brand, though I'd be surprised if tyhere aren't a few war stories out there.

For what it's worth, I've read that you should stick with one brand, whatever brand you may choose, because different brands use different lubricants and mixing can cause your camera to gum up.

At least that's what the experts day.

Regardless, with tape being the relatively cheap commodity that it is, a little brand loyalty can't hurt.

If I find a brand that works for me I usually do stick with it. I guess my question is really about more professional type MiniDvs that I have seen advertised. Does anybody use these? Are they really that much better? How so?
