Hey Guys,

I know this device is mainly used for creating music tracks but I wanted to ask you guys if you had a device like this, what would you use it for to help you create better narrative video projects? How would you use this device to help you create a better Documentary film? How would you use it in relation to Vegas Pro to help you create narration and voice over assets to compliment your visual assets? I'm really seeking inspiration from you guys on how one could get the most out of this device "as if it were the only recording device that you had in your audio bag".
My aim and ultimate goal is to work smarter not expensively harder lol! I already own a Tascam DR-60D, Zoom H6n, H4n, and Rode Stereo Video Mic Pro so I'm slowly learning that I absolutely have to teach myself how to get the most out of a single device before I run off and try to perfect everything... So any of your thoughts, tips, and ideas, on using the Tascam DP-008EX to achieve a better filmmaking experience will be most highly appreciated! Below is a link to the device I'm referring to... Thanks again!

The device only records at a sample rate of 44.1k, virtually all video uses 48k. It also has a maximum bit depth of 16 bits, I typically capture and process all audio at 24 bits and then reduce to 16 bits if necessary using either the Izotope MBIT+ or Waves IDR sample depth converter plugins. The Tascam DP-008EX only records 2 mono or 1 stereo tracks at a time. You already have a Zoom H6, this is FAR better suited to audio for video acquisition that this Tascam DP-008EX.
