Teleprompter software

I took a job with assurance from my local rental/video equipment sales house I could rent a prompter from them. Since it was new they agreed to let me borrow it for a week to test and let them know how it performed. Good thing I did.

The prompter is a 1Prompter 15" set with 1prompter software. What i ran into was the software must be activated by calling into the distributor. So a call back to the shop I got it from said they may be selling it at a later date and would not activate the software. So I have a prompter I can rent with no software.

Anyone know where I can get a good piece of free or very low cost prompter software? The job is already bid and contracted and I can't add another few hundred for software i will never use again. I'd appreciate any help. THanks.

I have the Prompter 2 software as part of my Ikan prompter kit. At $99 it's OK, unlimited installs, no phone home stuff, just need a valid serial number:

you might look at BPM-notepad

I had to use my Laptop, Connected another Monitor running Word, and scrolled it with the Sidebar because the talent couldn't remember the lines.
If it comes down to it... set the Font at a large enough size and Scroll it as your Talent reads it.

There are also a few FREE Teleprompter software's out there that I saw via Google.
You can use this same/similar setup to run one of them.

Total Price = FREE!
