text and sync

Guys,
I own 8 but to finish a wed proj I'm working on I'm still in 7.
The text properties "sync" is greyed out?

I want to keyframe the text color from white to black as a blurred backrgound introduces some hard to read changes through the clip.
so I need to animate the color change to keep the text legible.

It really sucks that it won't sync.

A workaround. Duplicate the text, change the color, dissolve between the two.

An another workaround is to open media in Trimmer and copy/paste TC in generated media window (see my tutorial in French).

I will take this time for Sony guys to take a CLUE!!!!
Why block out the sync in the text properties keyframing???

makes no sense to me.

I’m not convinced about Sony’s explanation since when we open event in Trimmer the cursor is sync with Timeline, even with generated media (see my workaround).
